Why is it important to history?
Pop-culture of the past 30 years has come from just simply being a delightful distraction to being something that shapes and reflects our society. These things accentuate people's ideas, and affirm the things they care about. We all can come together from an experience and share a common appreciation that we share watching these things. When studying pop-culture you can see what American society has come to welcomes and accepts. People of this country are all different religions, economic statuses, political ideas, races, and yet we can still over a lyric of a song, a punchline from a comedian, or a funny scene in a movie. Mutual admiration for these things brings us together, and also keeps a record of the current fads of the times.
